MESSAGE OBJECTIVE(S): Purity as foundation for marital establishment
THE DANGERS OF LACK OF PURITY IN MARITAL ESTABLISHMENT:
1. God does not fight for the success of such an engagement
2. The couple are blinded by the immorality that takes place between them so they cannot see the flaws in each other
3. There is a breakdown in mutual respect
4. There is a breakdown in mutual love
5. There is a breakdown in mutual trust
6. The likelihood of such an engagement breaking up is very high
Royal priesthoodship requires that purity is the bedrock of the marital relationship
QUALITIES NEEDED FOR ROYAL PRIESTHOOD AS MARRIED COUPLES
1. Marital unity and oneness (Esth. 1:3-5, 9-12)
SCRIPTURAL EXAMPLES:
A. Adam and Eve (Gen. 2:16-18; 3:1-4)
i. The serpent would not have had the opportunity to talk to Eve if Adam was around
ii. If the serpent still had the audacity to talk to Eve when Adam was around, Adam would have been able to correct the serpent’s erroneous argument.
iii. Many men have made investment decisions that failed because they didn’t walk as a couple
iv. Share the consecrations you made with God with your spouse
B. Samson (Judg. 15:4-6)
i. The two foxes running together gave greater impact
ii. The two foxes gave greater devastation to the enemies field
iii. The two foxes by their effect were able to draw the attention of the Philistines
iv. Because they were together they were able to run faster
CONCLUSION:
If you want greater impact in ministry you must walk together
C. Amos 3:3
i. There is a multiplier effect when two are together
ii. The journey of life is more productive when two are together
There is greater spread and progress
iii. Your walking together in unity should be such that you are one (oneness/alikeness)
